The First Person To Suggest Shopping Or Family Portraits Will Kindly Step Off The Gangplank

At least for the present time.

I have had my fill of both for the time being, thank you for asking.

And now for our regularly scheduled whine...

Friday I had a doctor's appointment close to Store A where I wanted to shop for shirts for the guys. At that point I was still on an eggplant or rust kick, but when I got to Store A I saw this beautiful suede-y looking shirt that I knew Hubster would love. The only problem was, it was moss green. That meant I had to find another to go with it that The Boy would tolerate. Not satisfied with just the one store, I went to another branch of the same chain we'll call Store B, several miles away. They had a green shirt (not the beautiful one) and an eggplant-striped shirt. But there again, The Boy didn't want to wear eggplant (the color, not the vegetable). By then I was getting tired so I went ahead and bought the shirts anyway.

Enter The OCD.

Immediately upon leaving Store B, I got into the car and headed back to Store A, where I returned the shirts I had just purchased and instead purchased the Beautiful Suede-y Shirt and a striped green shirt for The Boy.

And then I went across the parking lot to the Japanese steakhouse run by the Vietnamese people and stuffed myself with sushi until I could no longer breathe.

Fast forward to 31 October.

The OCD and I had coffee with Sis early Saturday morning, then we (The OCD and I) went shopping for a scarf to liven up my dull outfit for the Family Photo. Sis left us at 11:30 a.m. and I shopped nonstop until almost 4:00 p.m., finally settling on a Very Colorful Scarf.

And then I went home and collapsed for a hour in bed.

Following my resurrection, Hubster, The Boy and I cleaned house for a while. It was fun to have all of us working together at the same task, and actually made me want to work more.

Yes, I am quite ill.

The Swarm started at 5:30 p.m. Since the weather was fairly nice, children were out in droves in our neighborhood. Even passing out only one piece of candy to each, we conservatively went through about 150 trick-or-treaters that night. People were bringing carloads of kids in from other neighborhoods, and traffic was a nightmare. We had people coming to the door as late as 9:30 p.m., and then only because we'd forgotten to turn off the porch light.

And may I just say this? SHAME ON YOU ADULTS AND TEENAGERS WHO TRICK OR TREAT!!! This is for the CHILDREN. I embarrassed my family by calling out the older "children" who wanted candy, telling them not to come back next year because they were obviously too old this year.

Yes, I am THAT lady. So sue me.

And exhausted, I fell into bed.

More later on the actual Dia De La Photo.
