The Heart of the Matter

The Girl is in serious like.

This summer she is the acting health care person at an area camp for underprivileged kids.  She handles bumps, bruises, broken bones, stomachaches, homesickness, and all manner of ailments kids could come up with when they're away from home.  She hands out meds, gives insulin shots, and offers a listening ear when it's needed or a push out the door when it isn't.

One thing she didn't expect was to find something she needed as well.

It came in the form of one of the counselors.  He's tall, dark and handsome, and a man after God.  When they first fell in "like" with each other, he told her he wanted God to be at the center of their relationship...if there was to be one.

My heart just goes pitty-pat every time I think of that.

They do Bible studies together every day.  They read and discuss the passages during their free time, and hope to finish the book they're studying before camp ends for the summer.

(pitty-pitty-pitty-PAT-PAT-PAT)

Whether this becomes a lasting relationship or remains a thing of summer, I have no clue.  What I do know is that it has brought her happiness in an area she thought would never heal after the breakup of her previous relationship.

For that I am extremely grateful.

I also have a distinct feeling that God was playing matchmaker in this one, which is entirely different from any of her others.  She and he both admitted to praying separately about the matter, as they do today...only together.

It does this mother's heart good!

How exciting. Something a mom hopes for for her daughters. He seems very mature in his walk with God
