A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Story

There's a funny thing about writing.  It's either there, or it ain't.

Lately, it ain't.

I can sit and stare at a screen for hours at a time with nary a keystroke.  I honestly think I may have set some sort of record.

Perhaps it's because I'm placing too much importance on the written word.
Perhaps it's because I have nothing of value to say.
Perhaps it's because I need to read instead of write.
Perhaps it's because I'm too worried about writing The Perfect Story.

Whatever it is, I want to get over it.  It's making me crazy.
