One by one I've gotta get rid of these girls! :)Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08289638969194601415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30765336.post-1152739214489036192006-07-12T16:20:00.000-05:002006-07-12T16:20:00.000-05:00"I was brought up by a dyed-in-the-wool-perfection..."I was brought up by a dyed-in-the-wool-perfectionistic-take-a-toothbrush-to-the-bathroom-tile-every-Saturday-morning-cleanaholic mother. I KNOW better. And every so often I really do try to DO better. I get on my bandwagon and go through great cleaning sweeps equal to the Crusades. Cobwebs are banished, floors are mopped, sheets are changed, vacuuming is done, clutter is ousted, organizing is accomplished, dirt is vanquished and meals are prepared in advance."

I too was brought up this way and whenever my folks would come to visit I did exactly like you described above. But then my parents came to live with me!!! BUSTED!!! :D LOL! Well, that perfectionistic mother of my is now as sloppy as they come. Oh, sure, I understand why...she has enormaous physical limitations...but, I like to tell myself that her true person has finally managed to break free!! :) LOL!!

However, I did want to address your not having people over...for heavens sake don't let your home stop you from having people over for fellowship. If your home has to be perfect then I call that "entertaining." I would be entertaining the "Jones" this evening... the other is down home "hospitality." If they don't like your home then don't invite them again. If they are worth their weight in gold as friends, they won't mind moving a dust bunny or two around. :)

So, when do you want to do coffee? Hmmmm? :)Pilot Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04837729230556423683noreply@blogger.com
